Not really a Godess, but truly a saint

This is Saint Alice of Assisi.  Although technically not a Godess, she definitely is a Saint.  She raises Llamas, rescues animals in need and helps to build houses with Habitat for Humanity.

Oh The Joys of Dial Up

Well I am BACK!!!!!!!! and spending way too much time waiting for the dial up to post on my blog.
Now that my solo show paintings are finished and the show is actually open, I feel I have time to return to blogging again.  I have a few ideas knocking around in my head for some artwork I would like to create.  As always, more ideas than time!!!!  I am seriously going to devote the coming year to getting a decent portfolio together of sci fi illustration and try to finish my childrens book I started not too long ago, also. SOOOOOOO Stay Tuned for some more step by step here at Western View Studio.

Opening Reception - "Everyday Gods & Goddesses"

A couple photos of a few of my models viewing their portraits at the opening reception last Thursday night.  You see @Erica Fortwengler viewing Persephone and below are @Jeannie Mitchell and @Rose ODonnel viewing Flora and behind them is Minerva.

The entire show will move on to Art Square in Leesburg for a showing in May.  Photos of the entire show will be posted at that time.

Everyday Gods & Goddesses

Well folks, the wait is over.  My solo exhibition at The Art League Gallery located in the Torpedo Factory Art Facility at 101 N. Union St., Alexandria, is about to open.   The show runs from April 4 through May 6  and there will be an opening reception on April 11 from 6:30 until 8:00 pm.  I have painted 13 large portraits of family and friends as a Greek or Roman God that their personality suggests.  Some are pretty whimsical and a few are more classical.  I hope you can make it by and take a look while sipping some wine with me, aka "Bacchus"
